Italian Surface Finishes IN THE UK

Artistic textures are where the Framework handles sanded shimmer, patina and wave-like movement — from Sabulador’s mineral glow to Arteco 7 ageing, Mavericks’ sculpted waves and textile-reading surfaces. They are held as a disciplined language for real rooms, not one-off “effect walls”.

SAND · PATINA · WAVE · TEXTILE TEXTURES · ITALIAN SYSTEMS ORGANISED AS AN ARCHITECTURAL TEXTURE FAMILY

Artistic textures as part of the architecture

Sabulador, Arteco 7, Mavericks and the textile systems could easily become “special effects”. In the ISF Framework they sit inside one family with rules: how intense they should be, which walls can carry them, and how they sit next to calmer plaster, concrete or fabric-reading walls.

That structure matters in UK projects, where these surfaces often live alongside timber, stone and controlled lighting. The point is to add depth and movement without turning the scheme into a theme.

Sanded shimmer — Sabulador systems

Sabulador is the sand-based side of the family: Lux, Matt and Soft variants that read as mineral first, shimmer second. They sit between concrete and metallic — especially under grazing light in receptions, spa walls and restaurant spaces.

Sanded shimmer

Sabulador

Core Sabulador system: sanded decorative body with controlled sparkle. Mineral texture first, shimmer second, tuned through colour and application.

Typical zones: entrances, dining spaces, stair cores and spa walls where a gentle glow feels right under everyday British light levels.

Sabulador Soft

Softer, more velvety Sabulador surface — shimmer pulled back so grain and mineral texture do more of the work. Comfortable in larger rooms and corridors.

Typical zones: entrances, dining spaces, stair cores and spa walls where a gentle glow feels right under everyday British light levels.

Patina & ageing — Arteco 7 systems

Arteco 7 holds the patina language: from very quiet, limewash-like ageing to richer, more graphic readings. Passes, colour and scale are agreed at full height in the Studio so “age” supports the architecture rather than fighting it.

Patina & ageing

Arteco’ 7

Layered patina system for restaurant walls, bars, spa spaces and feature planes. Depending on the cycle, it can sit close to limewash or move towards a more graphic, aged reading.

Typical zones: hospitality walls, wine rooms, spa corridors and selected residential walls where depth and “history” are part of the brief.

Wave & movement — Mavericks systems

Mavericks is the sculpted side of the family: wave-like textures that catch light directionally. Used sparingly, one wall or volume can carry movement for an entire room.

Wave & sculpted texture

Mavericks - Sea-wave

Sculpted decorative body that reads as calm waves rather than pattern. Light and viewpoint do most of the work, which keeps the wall architectural, not graphic.

Typical zones: spa walls, statement corridors, stair cores and selected hospitality moments where a single textured volume anchors the scheme.

Textile readings — Juta & related systems

Textile-reading walls sit between fabric panelling and plaster. Juta and related systems catch light along a “warp and weft”, giving calm movement without pattern — ideal where you want the feel of fabric without the fragility.

Where artistic textures belong

These textures are strongest when they’re edited — used where they earn their place, surrounded by calmer mineral, metallic or fabric-reading surfaces.

In UK projects that often means key planes: one living-room wall, a stair core with grazing light, a bar backdrop, a spa wall. The Framework helps decide where to spend that texture so it feels deliberate, not scattered.

Artistic textures inside waterproof systems

In bathrooms and spa spaces, these readings are carried over the same waterproof bodies used elsewhere in the Framework so the look is continuous but the build-up changes as soon as you cross into a wet zone.

Sabulador, Arteco 7 and Mavericks can all sit on top of Waterproof Artistic Walls cycles. The waterproof body does the technical work; the artistic texture is composed on top in the Studio and executed by trained installers.

Where artistic textures sit in the ISF ecosystem

These are not random “feature paints”. Artistic textures move through the same chain as every other Framework family: Italian chemistry, London Studio decisions, ISF Academy training and Installer Network delivery.

Italian manufacturer

Sabulador, Arteco 7, Mavericks and textile systems are developed in Italy as complete cycles — binders, sand, pigments and protections tuned to give stable texture, shimmer and patina on large walls.

London Studio

Those systems are scaled up on full panels and room sets in the Studio so designers and clients can judge strength, direction and colour under project-like lighting before they appear on drawings.

ISF Academy

Artistic texture cycles are broken into methods for installers — how to control movement, overlap, edges and protection so “texture” stays architectural instead of drifting into theme.

Installer Network

Projects are delivered by installers whose portfolios show real Sabulador, Arteco 7, Mavericks and textile work in UK homes, hospitality and brand spaces — feeding field experience back into the Framework.

Italian systems, London Studio, ISF Academy and the Installer Network — artistic textures held inside one method from chemistry to finished rooms.

In the London Studio you can compare sand, patina, wave and textile textures beside calmer plasters, metallics and fabric- reading walls, then decide where each belongs in your project and how strong it should be.
