Studio partnerships & CPD

Make the London Studio part of your practice. CPD sessions and project-based support that join Italian systems, installer Levels and real case studies into one Framework you can design, tender and build with.

How the Studio fits

The thinking centre where products become projects.

The London Studio is where Italian systems are built at full scale, argued over in front of designers and installers, and written into the ISF Framework. Studio partnerships and CPD plug your practice into that work so your first Italian surface project behaves like your fifth.

From catalogue to systems you can draw

We compress the Valpaint portfolio into a small set of systems – designer plasters, metallics, textures, microcement and waterproof bodies – each with substrates, build-ups and Levels already mapped.

CPD shows you which systems belong in which rooms, and how they drop into GA plans, room data sheets and specifications.

Linked to Levels & the Network

The systems you see in a session are the same ones installers learn in the ISF Academy and deliver through the Installer Network. You see which Levels can carry which risk, and how to brief that into tenders.

That keeps procurement honest and reduces “interpretation” on site.

Project-facing, not theoretical

We use exhibition stands, case studies and live drawings to show what happens when systems meet real budgets, timelines and cleaning regimes.

Studio time can be used to review your projects, not just our slides, so you leave with decisions you can actually use.

CPD & partnership formats

Three ways to connect your work to the Framework.

Start with an introductory CPD, add a project-specific clinic when a live brief appears, then step into an ongoing partnership once Italian surfaces are a regular part of your practice.

Format 1

Framework CPD (60–75 minutes)

A clear walk-through of the ISF Framework: families, bodies, installer Levels and real-world case studies from homes, hotels and workspace.

Ideal as a first contact, a team induction or a refresher when new designers join or a practice wants to reset its approach to decorative systems.

Format 2

Project design clinic

A focused session around one or two live schemes. We review plans, room lists, risk zones and client expectations, then propose systems, Levels and mock-up strategies that fit.

Good for your first Italian bathroom floor, microcement route, spa or hospitality project where you want to avoid learning the hard way.

Format 3

Studio partnership

A more formal relationship with scheduled check-ins, shared learning from sites and Framework updates tailored to your pipeline – especially for larger studios, contractors and developers.

Surfaces become part of your standard process, not just an ad-hoc choice at the end of design.

Topics & modules

Built from the same material we teach to installers.

CPD content comes straight from Academy modules and exhibition fieldwork. We simply change the angle – from “how to apply” to “how to draw, specify and defend”.

The ISF Framework – how Italian manufacturer, London Studio, Academy and Installer Network work together on a real project.
Designer Plaster, Metallic & Industrial, Silk & Suede and Artistic Textures – choosing families by room type, risk and behaviour.
Microcement & continuous bodies – when to specify I-BETON, when to step up to Waterproof Artistic Walls, and how they connect.
Substrates, movement & aftercare – what Italian systems need beneath them and how to talk honestly about cleaning, ageing and repair.
Installer Levels & sequencing – how Level 1–6 map to tasks on site, and how to brief main contractors and finishers.
Case studies & exhibitions – what we learned from Coventry, Surface Design Show, Harrogate, Cologne and live London projects.

Fast-track studio support

When a live project needs help more than a lecture.

If drawings are issued, tenders are out or installers are already on site, we can use Studio time to stabilise that project rather than run a standard CPD.

In the request form, flag:

  • Which project or projects are most urgent.
  • Key dates: tender returns, start on site, mock-ups, handover.
  • Whether you already have installers in place, or want introductions to Academy- trained teams in the Installer Network.

Request CPD / studio partnership

Tell the Studio who you are and how we can help.

Use this form to request an introductory CPD, a project clinic or a wider partnership. We’ll respond with suggested formats, dates and how to connect Academy and Installer Network support to your work.
