In very high‑impact zones, we may recommend additional protection or careful positioning away from constant abrasion.

Yes, Klondike Ferro can be used on non‑immersed bathroom and kitchen walls, especially if a clear sealer is applied. It is not suitable on its own inside showers or in areas of constant direct water contact.

For fully waterproof finishes in wet areas, use Valpaint’s dedicated systems such as E‑VOLUTION PLUS within the Waterproof Artistic Walls framework.

Klondike Ferro is primarily designed for interiors. For external façades where a weathered metal appearance is required, Valpaint offers other systems (such as Klondike Corten and specific façade‑grade finishes) which are technically more appropriate. Yes — provided the existing paint is sound, non‑chalky and clean. Gloss or semi‑gloss surfaces should be lightly sanded to improve key and then primed using the recommended primer/basecoat from the Klondike Ferro system sheet. Unstable coatings must be removed and the substrate repaired before priming.

A typical cycle is:

• Substrate repair, sanding and cleaning.
• Application of the specified primer / tinted basecoat.
• First coat of Klondike Ferro to full coverage.
• Second coat of Klondike Ferro, modelled with brush and/or trowel to create the iron effect.
• Optional clear sealer for increased washability.

As an indicative figure, Klondike Ferro covers around 4–6 m² per litre per coat on smooth, primed walls. High‑relief effects and rougher substrates will reduce coverage. Always confirm consumption through on‑site sampling.

At approximately 20 °C and good ventilation:

• Touch dry in roughly 2–4 hours.
• Recoat interval around 6–8 hours.
• Full cure in approximately 7 days.

Once fully cured, Klondike Ferro provides a robust decorative surface suitable for normal wall contact. Where a compatible clear sealer is used, the finish becomes easier to wipe with a soft cloth and mild neutral detergent. Abrasive cleaning should be avoided.

Yes. Minor scuffs or localised damage can often be blended by a trained applicator using the same tools and movement patterns. For larger defects, it may be necessary to re‑work the finish to natural breaks (e.g. corners or panel joints) for an invisible repair.

Absolutely. As with all metallic coatings, Klondike Ferro responds strongly to lighting. Downlights, wall washers and natural daylight can dramatically change the perception of depth and sheen. We always recommend assessing sample boards under the actual project lighting before sign‑off.
