System build — Intonaco cycle

The Intonaco cycle uses a single primer and a two‑coat plaster build, varied by tool and movement to generate different stone / plaster textures.

• Primer 1200 — on both new and old substrates, repair and sand as required. Apply 1 coat of Primer 1200 diluted about 30 % with clean water. Allow approx. 4 hours at 20 °C before applying Meteore 10.
• Intonaco Spatolato — two coats of Meteore 10 Intonaco applied with stainless‑steel trowel PV 43 in irregular strokes. Wait approx. 8 hours at 20 °C between coats; while the second coat is still wet, compact with the trowel until the desired refinement is achieved.
• Spatolato with Scaglie Naturali — as above, but enriched with SCAGLIE NATURALI added to the pre‑tinted Intonaco (0.040 L per 1 L; 0.160 L per 4 L; 0.480 L per 12 L).
• Intonaco Civile — apply a coat of Intonaco at about 2 mm thickness with PV 43. After covering 1–2 m², go back over the surface with close, tamped trowel strokes to create an orange‑peel / civil plaster texture. After 20–30 minutes at 20 °C, when the material is tightening, spray water using PV 106 and smooth with the trowel.
• Brushed Plaster (Pennellato) — dilute Intonaco with approx. 320 ml water per litre. Apply two coats using brush PV 09 in irregular strokes, leaving no excess product. Wait approx. 8 hours at 20 °C between coats.
• Optional protective finishes — for increased water resistance and washability, apply Vetro Opaco, Vetro Lucido or Cera Wax after at least 24 hours’ drying, in 1–2 coats as required, especially in high‑contact or commercial areas.

Drying, curing & coverage

• Touch dry — approx. 3–4 hours at 20 °C.
• Recoat — approx. 24 hours at 20 °C.
• Full cure — approx. 28 days at 20 °C, depending on temperature and humidity.

On external applications, protect decorated surfaces from rain for at least 72 hours after application. Avoid applying below +10 °C or above +30 °C, or in high humidity / direct strong sun.

Compatible substrates & maintenance

Suitable substrates include:

• New plaster and skim‑coated plasterboard (fully cured and dry).
• Lime / cement plasters and mineral render.
• Sound, previously painted walls (degreased, lightly abraded and primed).
• Masonry and blockwork where stable and not subject to rising damp.

Do not apply on damp, unstable or contaminated substrates, or onto surfaces with active moisture problems. Any issues with movement or moisture should be resolved before the system is installed.

Routine maintenance:

• Dust with a soft cloth or vacuum using a soft brush attachment.
• Where sealed, clean with a damp cloth and mild neutral detergent.
• Avoid abrasive pads, scouring powders and strong solvents or acids.
• Do not subject freshly applied work to aggressive cleaning before full cure.

Health, safety & project resources

Meteore 10 Intonaco is a water‑based, low‑VOC mineral system with very low formaldehyde emissions and an A+ indoor air‑quality rating. Use standard good practice for mineral decorative coatings:

• Ensure good ventilation during application and drying.
• Wear gloves, eye protection and suitable work clothing; avoid contact with skin and eyes.
• Store products in tightly closed original containers between +10 °C and +30 °C; protect from frost.
• Do not wash tools into drains or watercourses; dispose of waste according to local regulations.
