Classic Italian silk
The original Valpaint silk system — seven signature techniques from brushed silk to wallpaper‑like Fiorata and Parato, refined over decades of Italian projects.
Italian Surface Finishes in UK
The original Italian silk wall system. Valsetin is Valpaint’s classic silk-effect decorative finish — a hand‑applied coating that turns flat walls into liquid textile. Fine pearlescent polymers catch light like woven threads, giving a calm, brushed‑silk reading from corridor to suite.
CLASSIC ITALIAN SILK‑EFFECT WALL SYSTEM · PRIMER 400 + VALSETIN SILK COATS · PART OF THE ARCHITECTURAL FINISHES COLLECTION
Valsetin — Formulated in Italy from pearlescent silk polymers for luminous softness · Curated & tinted in the UK by Italian Surface Finishes
Valsetin is the original silk language in the Italian Surface Finishes framework. A tinted Primer 400 undercoat stabilises the wall and builds colour; the Valsetin coats then lay a thin pearlescent film that behaves like fabric, not paint. Directional strokes organise the sheen so the wall reads as woven light rather than metallic sparkle.
Inside the system, Valsetin sits alongside Valsetin 2 (the low‑VOC, specification‑driven silk system), Meteore 10 Intonaco (concrete and stone), Klondike Classic (metallic textures) and Sabulador Soft (sanded shimmer) as part of the architectural finishes family — the palette used to build full schemes: concrete, sand, metal and silk.

Primer 400 is always tinted toward the final colour. It evens absorption, hides repairs and gives depth so large walls feel continuous under grazing light.
Works with Meteore 10 concretes, Klondike metallics, Sabulador Soft sands and Waterproof Artistic Walls (Evolution bodies) in one joined‑up specification.
“Liquid silk on the wall — a classic Italian decorative language that still feels completely modern.”
Italian Surface Finishes × ValpaintValsetin appears wherever a brief calls for soft luxury and light management rather than a flat emulsion or hard metallic. It often replaces textile wallcoverings where breathability, repair and future repaint options matter.
Living rooms, entrance halls, bedrooms, suites and corridors where a brushed silk glow supports stone, timber and fabric schemes.
Walls that need to photograph beautifully and feel substantial at close range, but remain easy to update between phases.
Boutique and gallery‑style spaces where the wall is a quiet backdrop for clothing, artwork, products and people.
Keep Valsetin to dry, ventilated interiors. In design‑led bathrooms and spa suites, the visible silk can be carried onto walls that sit alongside fully waterproof zones built on Waterproof Artistic Walls based on Evolution Plus.

Valsetin is more than a decorative “pot” — it’s a system: preparation, tinted Primer 400, the chosen Valsetin silk technique and, where needed, the Soft / V30 cycle. That makes it easy to position alongside Valsetin 2, Meteore 10 Intonaco, Klondike Classic and Sabulador Soft inside one specification.
Typical build‑up:
• Substrate repaired, levelled, sanded and de‑dusted.
• 1–2 coats Primer 400, always tinted towards the chosen Valsetin colour.
• 1–2 coats Valsetin in the selected technique (Seta Spatolata, Seta d’Oriente, Seta Striata, etc.).
• Stroke language agreed on a sample panel and approved under project lighting before full‑wall work.
Effect families include:
• Brushed silk — linear, directional sheen.
• Spatolata / d’Oriente — more sculpted, artisanal movements.
• Fiorata / Parato — wallpaper‑like, textile patterns using Setomat tools.
Where higher resistance or a softer, velvety sheen is needed, Valsetin can be upgraded to Valsetin Soft (V30 additive) and protected with Finish V16 in line with the Technical Data Sheet and dedicated cycle documentation.

Works with Valsetin 2, Meteore 10 Intonaco, Klondike Classic and Sabulador Soft in a single framework.
Where required, Valsetin can be the visible silk language over Evolution bodies in waterproof artistic wall systems.
One chain from Italian research to UK specification, training and delivery — with Valsetin as the classic silk layer in the architectural finishes collection.
Use this section when moving from research into a live Valsetin project. The links gather everything needed: application methods, technical data, related systems, waterproof bodies, tools and studio support.
Share drawings and references, or arrange to see Valsetin boards alongside Valsetin 2, Meteore 10 Intonaco, Klondike Classic and Sabulador Soft in the London Studio. We can help decide where silk should carry the space and where to support it with concrete, metallic and sanded finishes.
