Concrete, stone & marble walls for UK projects.
Level 3 gave you control over metallic and industrial walls — Klondike Classics, Lamé and industrial metals under difficult light. Level 4 moves that discipline into the architectural mineral language: concrete, stone and marble walls built with the Meteore 10 family — Cemento, Intonaco and Marmorizzato.
Across two days you’ll work with concrete, plaster / stone and marble readings at full height, understand how each system behaves on real elevations, and map where they sit in the Framework alongside Waterproof Artistic Walls for wet zones and floors.
Bay 1 · Concrete walls
Meteore 10 Cemento – concrete reading as architectural skin.
Cemento is the concrete system inside Meteore 10: lime-mineral body, C100 OVER cement glaze and optional Finish V 18 protection. Here you treat it as concrete language for architecture, not a generic “grey effect”.
- Build Compact, Vintage or more open concrete readings from the same core cycle.
- Control pores, passes and joints so walls read as one concrete surface, not stripy or patched.
- Understand how Cemento behaves on interior walls vs selected façades under different light.
- See how the same language continues over Waterproof Artistic Walls bodies in showers and floors.
In the UK we use Cemento as a concrete language for living rooms, stair cores, lobbies and occasional façades, often alongside metallic, timber and stone elements in the same scheme.
Bay 2 · Stone / plaster walls
Meteore 10 Intonaco – stone and plaster readings.
Intonaco is the stone / plaster direction in Meteore 10: soft relief, civil textures and calm mineral sheen for contemporary and heritage interiors.
- Work Intonaco from almost flat plaster through to more open “civil” grain.
- Balance movement and calm so walls feel like stone / plaster rather than decorative pattern.
- Handle corners, soffits and mixed-light areas without killing the mineral reading.
- Position Intonaco against Marmorizzato and Cemento in real schemes — where each should lead or support.
In the UK we see Intonaco as a quiet stone / plaster skin for stair cores, galleries and heritage-sensitive interiors, where movement must stay subtle and mineral.
Bay 3 · Marble walls
Meteore 10 Marmorizzato – continuous marble / marmorino walls.
Marmorizzato delivers continuous marble / marmorino walls — veining, clouding and sheen tuned by hand rather than by swapping products. Level 4 gives you a disciplined entry into that language.
- Work base and design coats to create believable marble movement, not random streaks.
- Control sheen from honed stone to higher polish through compression and, where specified, glazes and waxes.
- See where Marmorizzato belongs in dry zones, and how marble readings move onto waterproof bodies in wet areas.
- Read marble walls under raking light, diagnose common defects and rehearse low-visibility repairs.
In the UK we use Marmorizzato for continuous marble walls in lobbies, suites, reception spaces and dry-zone bathrooms, often as the mineral counterpoint to metallic or timber elements.
Teaching structure
Two studio days, mapped like a project.
The course is built like a small project: framework and language first, then mineral systems in motion, then how to take them out of the studio and into UK work with support — including when to move onto Waterproof Artistic Walls.
Day 1
Concrete & stone — Cemento & Intonaco.
Morning on the Meteore 10 map inside the Framework and how Cemento, Intonaco and Marmorizzato sit alongside metallic walls, fabric-inspired systems and Waterproof Artistic Walls. Live demos on Cemento and Intonaco — base logic, joint strategies, pores / relief and light management. Afternoon at the wall building concrete and stone readings on tall bays, including corners, returns and mixed-light conditions.
Day 2
Marble walls, system decisions & portfolio capture.
Day 2 moves into Marmorizzato and the marble language. You’ll build marble bodies, work veining and tune sheen, then review how marble, concrete and stone readings translate onto E-VOLUTION PLUS Waterproof Artistic Walls in showers and floors. The course closes with structured critique and portfolio photography — concrete, stone and marble walls under raking and ambient light, ready for client and designer decks.
What you can do after Level 4.
- Deliver mineral wall systems in Meteore 10 Cemento, Intonaco and Marmorizzato to an agreed sample standard.
- Handle light-critical mineral walls with much more confidence and fewer surprises.
- Explain where concrete, stone and marble bodies sit in the Framework and how they relate to Waterproof Artistic Walls.
- Know which mineral jobs you can run alone and where support or further training is needed.
Who this Level is for.
- Installers who have completed Level 3 – Metallic & Industrial or have equivalent mineral / polished-plaster experience.
- Decorators and surface finishers already offering decorative systems who want to move into concrete, stone and marble walls.
- Studios and specifiers who want to understand what these systems ask of site teams before specifying them widely.
Pathway after Level 4.
- Use your Level 4 work to build a mineral portfolio on real projects – concrete feature walls, stone-like stair cores, marble lobbies and dry-zone bathrooms.
- Move towards Waterproof Artistic Walls and higher Levels once you have mineral jobs under your belt.
- Strengthen your case for Installer Network listings focused on mineral and waterproof work.
Do I need to complete Level 3 before Level 4?
In most cases, yes. Level 4 assumes you can already keep metallic or similar walls calm and consistent under difficult light. If you have a strong concrete / stone / marble portfolio but haven’t attended Level 3, share examples with your enquiry and the Academy will advise.
Does Level 4 qualify me to order Meteore 10 Cemento, Intonaco and Marmorizzato?
Yes. ISF links access to key mineral systems to training and assessment. Completing Level 4 and passing assessment will typically unlock access to the systems taught on the course within the Framework, subject to ISF commercial terms.
Is Level 4 a waterproof / microcement course?
Level 4 focuses on Meteore 10 mineral walls in dry and splash zones, and shows how these readings relate to E-VOLUTION PLUS Waterproof Artistic Walls. It is not a full waterproof / microcement training. Think of it as the mineral language that sits either side of your wet zones, and as preparation for dedicated waterproof courses.
Do I need to bring my own tools?
You are encouraged to bring the trowels, spatulas and brushes you normally use. The Studio also provides full mineral kits so you can experiment with different tools and combinations before committing on live projects.
Is Level 4 suitable for designers and specifiers?
Yes – with the same caveat as other Levels. Level 4 is built around installers and most of the time is spent at the wall. Designers and specifiers who want a deep understanding of how concrete, stone and marble systems behave on site are welcome, but should expect to work physically rather than sit through a classroom-only day.
What kind of jobs am I ready for after Level 4?
Most Level 4 graduates are ready to take responsibility for concrete, stone and marble walls in living spaces, stair cores, lobbies and boutique retail / hospitality, often as part of a small team. More complex multi-system, fully wet or hybrid frameworks usually require further experience or dedicated Waterproof Artistic Walls training.
Fast-track entry (by evidence).
The normal route into Level 4 is through Level 3 – Metallic & Industrial. In some cases we can fast-track you if you already have equivalent training and mineral / polished-plaster project evidence.
You can request fast-track if at least one of the following applies:
- You’ve completed Level 3 at ISF and have used those skills on live metallic or mineral jobs.
- You have PaintTech Training Academy (or similar) including Valpaint mineral / decorative systems and can supply dates, trainer name and project examples.
- You run high-end mineral systems already and can show consistent work on light-critical walls and cores.
Fast-track is not automatic. The Academy will review your application, training background and project evidence, and may still recommend taking Level 3, repeating specific modules or tuning a different route through the Framework.
