System overview

Meteore 10 Cemento is installed as a defined cycle. The logic is simple: stabilise the substrate, build the mineral body, shape the concrete movement, then consolidate and, if needed, seal.

  • Primer 1200 — regulates absorption and provides a uniform base.
  • First coat Meteore 10 Cemento — build layer for coverage and mineral body.
  • Second coat Meteore 10 Cemento — design layer for concrete texture and direction.
  • C100 OVER — cement glaze that unifies tone and improves resistance.
  • Finish V 18 (optional) — clear coat for higher wear and splash zones.

The cycle is the same whether Cemento is used in residential interiors, hospitality spaces or selected façades; what changes is the substrate preparation and protection level.

Step‑by‑step method

  1. Substrate preparation
Surfaces must be clean, dry, stable and smooth. Remove dust, grease and friable material. Fill cracks, level defects, sand and, where needed, stabilise with an appropriate fixative before priming.
  2. Primer 1200
Apply Primer 1200 with roller, brush or spray, typically diluted 15–20 % with clean water (up to 30 % on very absorbent surfaces). Allow at least 6 hours at 20 °C before applying Meteore 10.
  3. First coat — build layer
Using a flexible stainless‑steel trowel, apply a thin, uniform coat of Meteore 10 Cemento. Aim for full coverage without heavy ridges. This coat establishes the mineral body. Allow 6–8 hours at 20 °C.
  4. Second coat — movement & character
Apply a second thin coat. While the material remains workable, control the trowel strokes to create the chosen Cemento effect (Compact, Vintage, Large, Slim, Ground or Scored). Maintain a wet edge across each panel.
  5. Detail work & jointing
For board‑formed “Scored” effects, mark shutter joints with a straight edge while the second coat is still plastic. Use Pixel Pens if required to emphasise joints after drying and before or after glazing.
  6. C100 OVER cement glaze
After the Meteore 10 body has dried (around 24 hours at 20 °C), apply C100 OVER by roller, brush or spatula. For most textures use it undiluted at roughly 4–5 m²/L; for very subtle work dilute up to 10 % with water. Follow the direction of the concrete movement.
  7. Optional Finish V 18
In stair cores, corridors and hospitality spaces, protect with 1–2 coats of Finish V 18 (Opaco or Lucido) after C100 OVER has dried for at least 24 hours. Allow 4 hours between coats.

Always confirm timing and coverage on a sample panel under project conditions and refer to the technical data sheet for exact figures.

Professional tips

What experienced applicators focus on

  • Panel layout first. Treat big walls like concrete pours — agree joint lines on drawings and set them out on site.
  • Work in teams on large areas. One person loads material, another follows behind to texture and close.
  • Control sheen. Concrete reads best as satin. Avoid over‑burnishing unless a higher polish is part of the brief.
  • Respect drying windows. Over‑working too early tears the surface; returning too late can create patchiness.
  • Build sample boards. Approve colour and texture with the client under project light before committing to full areas.
