Read the complete manufacturer catalogue ↗Classic application · trowel
Lay a thin, uneven coat with 15–30 cm strokes in every direction. Repeat after 5–6 hours at 20°C. About one hour after the second coat, pass the clean PV43 across the surface in 15–20 cm strokes with pressure. Manufacturer catalogue · PDF 12. Timings depend on conditions.
Classic application · brush and trowel
Lay the first coat with a well-loaded PV76 using short 8–15 cm strokes in all directions. Smooth with a clean PV43 after about 20 minutes at 20°C. Apply the second coat with PV76 after 5–6 hours. About one hour later, work with a clean PV43 in crossing 15–20 cm strokes with pressure. Manufacturer catalogue · PDF 12. Timings depend on conditions.
Brush-worked application
Apply short 8–15 cm strokes in all directions with PV76. Repeat after 5–6 hours at 20°C. About one hour after the second coat, work across the surface with a clean PV76, using pressure. Trial this complete method before committing to a wall. Manufacturer catalogue · PDF 12. Timings depend on conditions.
Prepare the surface
Old walls: remove loose paint, wash and apply an appropriate fixative. When dry, apply Primer 1000. New walls: clean, fill, dry, sand and apply a suitable fixative before Primer 1000. Allow about 6 hours at 20°C before Klondike Light. Wood, glass, light alloys and painted iron need cleaning, degreasing or sanding and a suitable substrate primer before Primer 1000. Untreated iron needs rust removal and an appropriate anti-rust treatment first. Primer 1000 coverage: 14–15 m²/L for one coat. The decorative undercoat does not replace substrate-specific preparation.
Tinting, additions & application timing
Add the metallic component to the tinted finish. Star G300 is a separate optional addition. Original has no Gold G100 or Silver G200 addition. The manufacturer specifies application within 24 hours of colouring. Arrange preparation, delivery and application timing with ISF before ordering prepared material. Check the supplied product instructions and label.
Drying, care & a complete trial
Apply between +5°C and +30°C. At 20°C: dust-free in about 3 hours, dry in 4–6 hours and hardening over about 24 hours, depending on conditions. After 15 days, the manufacturer permits washing with water and ordinary detergents. Trial the full preparation and application cycle first. The catalogue warns that shade may differ by 20–30% from the illustrations depending on application; this is not a measured tolerance for a screen image. Mix batches together where needed and keep the same applicator from start to finish. Store tightly closed between +10°C and +30°C. Consult the current product documentation and safety data for site use.
